Michaela Tomcová (CZ)

My first encounter with retriever happened in 2001, when my parents have bought labrador as a family dog. After the beginnings with my first bitch LR Arleta od Drexlerova mlýna, when working with retrievers was more and more enjoyable, I started to watch working labradors abroad. At the end of 2006, my dream came true as I got a bitch Woodquarter Gundogs’ Alabama (Ferrari) which is the first trial labrador in Czech Republic. With Ferrari we have won several WTs and Judges Choices. Then we have continued with the Field Trials and we have achieved three victorious in International FT. In 2011 we were members of the first Czech team starting in IWT in Hungary.

In 2010 I have succesfully breeded first litter of trial labradors in Czech Republic (Arlet Star Kennel). From this litter I have kept a bitch Ann Amelia Arlet Star (Mia). Mia has passed several WT with excelent results, but I have concentrated mainly on Field Trials. In 2012 she has won her first trial and got CACIT and CACT titles and in 2013 she has won in another two IFT and received her International Working Champion title. I have kept again one representative of this bloodline Cool Frieda Arlet Star (Freda) in our kennel.

I spend all my free time with dogs, out of the hunting season we go to train abroad. In the season the FTs and hunting days, where I actively use my dogs, are our challenge and reward.

I am the WT judge several years and from 2014 I judge also FTs. When in Czech Republic I organize retriever trainings around Mladá Boleslav.

I wish to all competitors good luck and a nicely spent day in Česke Budějovice.

Pieter Vivijs (B)

I grew up with with labradors, but they were not used for shooting. First of all they were pets and my father was involved in a local obedience club but it was there that my fascination for training dogs started.

Today I have been involved in training retrievers for more then 15 years. I started out with flatcoated retrievers and had reasonable succes with them on working tests and novice field trials. The last years I only have labradors and until now I have made up 3 field trial champions. Recently I was member of the Belgian team, winning the Coupe d’Europe 2015 in Sweden. I enjoy training, picking up and field trialling, but most of all I enjoy shooting over my own dogs.

I’m the secretary of the Belgian Labrador Retriever Club and member of the field trial committee. Since 2013 I’m judging working tests and field trials and since 2015 I’m an official FCI judge.
